Abstract
An analytic expression is derived for the energies of states due to exchange of the quadrupole and spin-vibrational phonon. Expressions are given for the proton-neutron multiplet and the proton-phonon-neutron multiplet. The rules are generalised to quasiparticle or cluster states. As an illustration the parabolic rule is applied to /sup 100/Tc. (3 References).
